The exodus from OpenAI grows after CEO Sam Altman is pushed out. Now his chief lieutenant says he’s leaving too
OpenAI co-founder and chairman Greg Brockman said he was leaving the maker of generative artificial intelligence tools just hours after the board forced out CEO Sam Altman.
“I am very proud of what we have all built together since we started in my apartment 8 years ago,” Brockman wrote in a post on the social media site great together, and we achieved it. despite all the reasons, it should have been impossible. But based on today’s news, I stopped.
Earlier, OpenAI’s board announced it was parting ways with Altman, also a co-founder and one of the most prominent figures in the AI world, after losing confidence in him as as leader.
“I sincerely wish you nothing but the best,” Brockman wrote in his post. “I continue to believe in the mission to create safe artificial general intelligence that benefits all humanity.”
In one of the moves announced earlier, Brockman was to leave his role as chairman of the board but remain with the company, reporting to the new CEO.
