Samsung announces SDC23 details

Samsung will host Samsung Developer Conference 2023 (SDC23) at the famous Moscone Center in San Francisco on October 5.

This announcement marks the ninth SDC, a conference series that has been a cornerstone of innovation in the technology industry since its inaugural event in 2013.

Unlike the previous year, where participation was limited to exclusively invited participants, this year’s conference opens its doors to all technology enthusiasts, developers and individuals eager to delve into Samsung’s latest advancements.

Samsung will highlight its platform innovations, showcasing its advancements in SmartThings, Bixby, Knox and Tizen. This thematic focus serves to emphasize the seamless integration of Samsung’s various business segments and devices, resulting in enhanced customer experiences.

Additionally, the company plans to share its collaborative initiatives and open innovation strategies with developers and partners. This collaboration aims to lay the foundation for creating the next generation of interconnected experiences.

The curtain will rise on SDC23 with a keynote speech from JH Han, Vice President, CEO and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung. This keynote will present the company’s grand vision, focused on technological innovation and continued expansion of the customer experience.

Han will be joined on stage by a number of other Samsung executives who will unveil the company’s future strategic plans. The list of speakers includes:

  • Jayeon Jung – Executive Vice President of the SmartThings team
  • Hobum Kwon – Vice President of Platform Team, Samsung Research
  • Bongjun Ko – Executive Vice President of Application S/W R&D Group, Visual Display Business
  • Sally Hyesoon Jung – Vice President of Framework R&D Group, Mobile eXperience Business
  • Hon Pak – Vice President of the Digital Health team, Mobile eXperience Business, among others

Beyond the keynote, SDC23 will also feature a series of interactive breakout sessions. These sessions provide attendees with invaluable opportunities to collaborate and delve deeper into Samsung’s latest developer platforms and tools, including One UI 6, SmartThings, Matter, Bixby, Tizen, and Samsung Health, among others.

Participants keen on dynamic discussions can take part in sessions held in the “Open Theatre”, where impromptu discussions on various topics are encouraged.

Meanwhile, those with coding prowess – or those interested in learning the art of coding – can participate in the “Code Lab”. This interactive session provides hands-on coding experience, with participants receiving guidance and mentorship from Samsung developers on various topics.

The keynote and key conference sessions will be live streamed on Samsung’s official YouTube channel and Samsung Developer website during the event.

To physically attend SDC23, interested parties are encouraged to visit the official conference website.
