How to prepare your skin for spring correctly, and how the French do it

In spring, nature blooms, and we are worse. How can we look pale and dull against its background?! Therefore, we are preparing ourselves for spring in advance. And first of all, we take care of our business card – the skin of the face. After all, she fully experienced all the “charms” of the insidious winter weather and now needs special care.

So, what should you do right now to prepare your skin for spring? Below you will learn about this and how French women, recognized trendsetters, care for their skin in early spring. What do they consider to be the main thing when caring for the face in early spring, and what kind of cream is constantly in the purse of every Parisian?

Secrets of skin care in late winter and early spring

You may have noticed that at the end of winter, the skin on the face has become rougher and duller. But don’t panic; it happens to everyone, regardless of age or quality of facials. So the skin protects itself from wind and frost – it builds up the stratum corneum. But by spring, the upper layers of the epidermis become thinner and flabby. It’s time to start cleansing, toning the skin, and other pleasant facial treatments.

Facial cleansing

Wash your face with gels and foams, not fatty milk, and certainly not with ordinary soap. Apply to peel. It will rid the skin of the face of impurities, dead cells, and secretions regularly secreted by the sebaceous glands. But do not delay this procedure. The deadline is the end of February, the beginning of March, while the sun rarely peeks out from behind the clouds. Otherwise, the response to such “care” for the skin of the face may be a protective reaction – redness, the appearance of age spots, and even rosacea.

Remove dead cells and impurities with a good scrub, do not skimp on cleansing your face. Use soft products. We recommend playing it safe and using cosmetics for sensitive skin. The content of various components that provoke the appearance of allergies is reduced in them, and preservatives and emulsifiers are almost completely absent. The only drawback of such funds is their short shelf life.

Toning

In the morning and evening, wipe the face and décolleté with ice cubes from a decoction of pharmaceutical herbs. This improves blood circulation and enhances the exchange of cells. Very soon, you will notice how the skin becomes fresh and toned. Additionally, wipe your face with a tonic.

If you have dry skin:

  1. Choose a toner that does not contain ethanol.
  2. Better yet, use your homemade cleanser.
  3. Pour a tablespoon of oatmeal with a glass of milk brought to a boil.

Cool and strain the mixture – the tonic is ready!

Moisturizing

Have you changed your fur coat for a light jacket but continue using thick fat cream in the morning? So you clog the pores on the skin even more and block oxygen access. Change oily cream to a light moisturizer immediately. Inhaling “full breasts,” the skin will thank you and thank you with a healthy complexion.

Move more, walk more often, and start running if you still need to practice outdoor workouts. Oxygenate your skin.

Nutrition – favorite foods for your skin

No, this is not about proper diet, although it is important. It’s about face masks. After winter, the skin on the face needs them especially. Masks moisturize, cleanse pores, even out the texture and color of the skin of the face, increase blood microcirculation, and have many other beneficial effects.

Recommendations for applying the mask

  • Apply exclusively to clean skin.
  • It is advisable to steam the face first – the effect will be higher.
  • Do not apply the mask to the area of the lips and eyes.
  • Hold for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse the mixture thoroughly with warm water or herbal decoction.

We offer two simple but very effective mask recipes that are easy to make at home.

Mask for normal and oily skin

Mix two raw proteins with 50 g of freshly squeezed orange juice. Apply to face. Wash off the mask with warm water after 15 minutes.

Result: less visible pores, fresh, healthy complexion.

Mask for sensitive skin

Mix the usual “Hercules” with boiling water (milk or herbal decoction) in a ratio of 1: 2 / 2.5. Wait until the flakes soften and swell, cool the “porridge,” and apply on the face for 15 minutes.

Result: healthy hydration and radiance of the skin.

Pamper your face with a massage.

The muscles of the face, like the body, need support. Massage improves blood circulation, moisturizes the skin, restores its tone, and prevents age-related “omissions.” Favorable changes are evident after the first sessions: the oval of the face is tightened, and the skin color improves.

If it is not possible to do a massage in the salon, it is easy to master self-massage of the face along the massage lines. There are several massage techniques. The main thing is to work with the skin actively but gently to avoid damaging it.

beauty treatment

Another alternative to in-salon massage is a dry-brush treatment. Facial massage with a special dry brush on dry skin stimulates blood circulation, accelerates lymph, cleanses and opens pores, and prevents age-related sagging.

Doing this massage up to two times a week is recommended.

How French women care for their skin in early spring – adopt their secrets.

In France, the foundation and powder are held in low esteem. They prefer not to hide appearance errors with cosmetics but to care for their skin to remain fresh and young for as long as possible.

The most popular procedures in Parisian salons in late winter and early spring are peeling, cleansing, and moisturizing. This is followed by revitalizing nourishing masks and facial massage. The same as ours. But there are some differences.

For example, the most popular skin care product is sunscreen. It is necessary for everyone to be a self-respecting Frenchwoman to enter the street, neither in winter nor summer. And the most important accessory, without which you can hardly meet a Frenchwoman, is sunglasses. Girls from France wear them all year round, protecting themselves from premature wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes.

Tanning and bronzers are on the taboo list of French women.

With mother’s milk, they absorb: tanned face ages add 5-7 years to the age. To keep her youth longer, the famous Catherine Deneuve never goes out without applying a cream with UV protection. So she does all her adult life and looks great in the 8th decade. And for her, like most of her lesser-known fellow citizens, the most popular skin care product is a moisturizer for the face with an SPF of at least 30+. It is a cream with sun protection in winter, spring, and summer that is always in the purse of any Frenchwoman.

Let’s face the obvious – the sun ages the skin! Stay out with sunscreen, not only in summer but also in spring. Let a protective cream with UV protection of at least 15+ always be in your purse.

Prefer glamorous shops … pharmacies.

But it’s not what you thought. They buy cosmetics in pharmacies. Along with purchasing a quality cosmetic product, a French woman will receive advice on self-care, try out a new brand and take advantage of the action. For a French woman, the first place is not the famous brand but the result.

Choose gommage

This is a delicate peeling, softer than a classic scrub. It removes damaged cells without damaging the skin of the face and its protective layer. The gommage contains soft acids and, instead of large abrasive particles, the smallest granules that melt when applied to the skin.

Gentle gommage acts gently, but the effect of it is amazing – smooth, refreshed skin with an even tone.

Sleep at least 7-8 hours at the time intended for this.

Good sleep is an important item in the beauty schedule of French women. “Yes, this is banal,” you say. Yes, this is the banalest advice many tritely “score.”

But do you know at what time of the day the cells are updated most actively? That’s right – at night. During a night’s rest, all recovery processes are activated in the body. To be more precise, from 21.00 to 5.00 in the morning. And if at this time you do not sleep, the renewal of skin cells on the face slows down.

Conclude yourself – is it worth it to “score” on the beauty of the face and sit on social networks at night, or still give the body a rest and restore freshness and radiance to the skin of the face?

What else affects the condition of your skin

How healthy and radiant your skin will be in spring depends only on your lifestyle. Its condition is affected by nutrition, bad habits, sunbathing, stress, and lack of sleep. Eliminate or minimize negative phenomena, and the youthfulness of the face will last longer.
