Eyebrow lamination: what kind of procedure is it, and can it be done at home

Eyebrows are like a picture frame. Such a procedure as eyebrow lamination will not only give the desired shape but also, properly carried out, can strengthen the structure of the hairs. Save time on everyday makeup.

Every woman dreams of a perfect appearance. Ladies pay special attention to facial contours, hence the growing popularity of cosmetic procedures.

One of the options is a lamination of eyelashes and eyebrows. Expressive eyebrows of the correct form are the latest hit.

However, taming unruly hair is a test. In this case, lamination will come to the rescue – an innovative method of styling eyebrows and eyelashes. Allows you to achieve a natural look while emphasizing eyelashes and eyebrows.

In the salon, such a procedure is expensive. Home lamination is an alternative to a professional service.

What is brow lamination?

Thin and barely noticeable eyebrows are a thing of the past. Today, thick, expressive eyebrows are in fashion, emphasizing the look and giving a girlish expression.

For the eyebrows to become a real decoration of the face, they must be well-groomed: shiny, and healthy.

What to do if, despite the care procedures, they look unimportant? Lamination will come to the rescue.

Eyebrow lamination is the application of special cosmetic preparations to the hair. This is a procedure for which the hairs acquire volume, and the location is fixed.

The effect is to obtain a natural density of hair on the superciliary arch. After the procedure, the eyebrows remain in the right place, look beautiful, and nourish the hair. The effect lasts up to 6 weeks.

Lamination can be done in many beauty salons. Since such a service can be too expensive to save money, you can laminate your eyebrows at home.

Eyebrow lamination – effect

Lamination means reinforcing something with a thin protective layer. This is how eyebrow lamination works, during which the hairs are covered with special preparations that change the original location and, as a result, give the desired shape.

This offer is for owners of thick, sparse, light, and dark hair. The procedure can be done many times. When performed correctly, it is not associated with side effects.

The result is noticeable after the first procedure. Hair is perfectly styled, thicker, and shinier. If you apply eyebrow dye before lamination, no additional tinting is required.

It is worth buying a special lamination kit to keep the effect for a long time.

The base is a special hair glue. The set should also include the following:

  • Hair softener;
  • Fixing cosmetic;
  • Degreaser;
  • Brush and special sticks for applying funds.

The advantage of the kits is that it lasts for several applications.

Beautiful eyebrows are not the only result of the procedure. The kit may also include a nourishing eyebrow product.

Step-by-step brow lamination

Before you start laminating your eyebrows at home, read the manufacturer’s instructions.

  1. Thoroughly clean the eyebrows with a degreaser. You can use micellar water or saline if the kit does not have such a tool.
  2. Comb hair with a brush and style as desired.
  3. Cover eyebrows with styling glue.
  4. Apply an activator to the eyebrows, a tool that opens the hair cuticles. Cover the eyebrows with cling film, speeding up the drug’s action.
  5. After 10-15 minutes, remove the activator with a cotton swab. The thicker and denser the eyebrows, the longer it will take.
  6. Apply a fixative to the eyebrows. At this stage, it is important to comb the eyebrows carefully. Close the hairs again with a film.
  7. After 10 minutes, remove the fixative with a cotton swab.

After the lamination procedure, the eyebrows can be trimmed or corrected, and the serum included in the kit can be applied. At home, it can be castor or olive oil.

Eyebrows should not be tinted after the procedure, as the dye may interact adversely with lamination products. If you need to darken, do it the day before the procedure.

How to care for eyebrows after lamination

Eyebrow lamination is a simple procedure. However, you must follow the rules.

  1. Carry out the individual lamination steps in a specific order.
  2. Do not leave the activator and fixative on the eyebrows. This can cause severe skin irritation and even hair loss.
  3. Do the procedure carefully and slowly; avoid getting food in your eyes.
  4. Buy well-established cosmetics for eyebrow lamination.
  5. Eyebrows after lamination do not like water. Do not wash or color during the first 12 hours after the procedure.
  6. Regular lubrication of the eyebrows with oil will also help to maintain the effect for a long time, avoid overdrying and strengthen the eyebrows.
  7. Do not rub your eyebrows unnecessarily.
  8. Do not be zealous with eyebrow makeup. Frequent tinting with pencil, shadows and paint can reduce the durability of lamination.

Contraindications to the procedure

Unfortunately, there are contraindications. This mainly applies to people who have:

  • acne;
  • Razacea;
  • Fresh wounds and skin changes around the eyebrows;
  • Atopic dermatitis;
  • Allergy to any of the ingredients of lamination cosmetics.

The procedure is contraindicated for:

  • Viral diseases;
  • bacterial infections;
  • cancer and chemotherapy;
  • HIV and AIDS.

Eyebrow lamination should not be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as acid peels.

Do not use retinol in daily care.

Eyebrow lamination with gelatin – a cheap home method

To carry out the procedure at home, prepare the composition by taking the following:

  • 15 grams of gelatin
  • 50 grams of hot water

Dilute gelatin and boil over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Cool and add a few drops of olive oil.

Before applying to the eyebrows, remove dirt and cosmetics from the hair.

Then, using a small brush, apply gelatin and smooth the hairs, giving the desired shape.

Leave for an hour, covered with cling film. After this time, gently rinse and comb the eyebrows.

Home beauty treatments remain popular. First, they are cheap, and you don’t have to spend a fortune on services in professional salons.

Of course, special lamination products will retain the effect longer than gelatin. But this product is cheap and can be found in every kitchen.
